Being an Interior Designer is an amazing profession. I get to surround myself with the most beautiful things, focus on inspiring designs, architecture and art every day.
Yes, there are downsides to the profession. I do have those days when I have to sit at the computer for hours on end creating construction documents that are rather tedious. Sometimes I have a client who just can’t seem to be satisfied or just can’t make a decision, and I have to play Designer Psychologist and help them through their emotional crisis. Sometimes I get the call from a manufacturer or vendor telling me that an important element in a design has been discontinued, and I have to find a replacement. That might mean changing a number of things that were chosen specifically to work together with the no-longer-available item. And the client is never happy about that either.
But even on those days, I know that “this too shall pass” and I’ll be back to space planning a new home or office, choosing luxurious fabrics, traipsing through furniture stores and art galleries looking for the perfect addition to that special interior. Yes…life as a Designer is GOOD!

Wow factor indeed!!!
